Neil Costello is a producer, sound engineer and musician who runs a studio in rural East Sussex. My brief was to create a website to market his abilities, taking full advantage of his experience, using testimonials and case studies from past and present clients.
Through meeting with Neil we decided the website ought to be clean, contemporary, clear, easy to maintain, simple to navigate, professional, engendering trust through portraying experience, and aesthetically pleasing.
Neil and I decided the best way to show his experience would be to demonstrate the number of prolific musicians in the Christian music industry that he had collaborated with. We also decided testimonials from these individuals would be highly desirable to include, so I prioritised these elements in the design.
I wanted to choose typefaces that had an assured, dignified quality to them. In the end we settled on a clean sans-serif for the title, set in all-caps with slightly increased tracking, and a serif font for smaller headings and body. We chose colours with the same mindset, electing to keep the website monochromatic, with a teal accent colour.
Neil was pretty pleased with the end result:
“Some great feedback with the website […] looks brill well done!”
