Cross The Line is a faith and football-centric blog with a wide-reaching audience. I responded to an advert they posted asking for anyone with web design talent to take their website to the next level. Since completion in December 2014, their website has grown at an astronomic rate, now averaging 238,000 hits per month.
Responding to their sudden popularity has raised unforeseen issues, such as the need for advertising, website outages due to exceeding their allotted bandwidth, and the necessary optimisation of the site for high traffic. We also discovered through using Google Analytics that a large proportion of visitors view the website on mobile devices, resulting in the decision to redesign the website with mobile user experience in mind in 2017.
